Close cooperation with Mackay Memorial Hospital
The educational curriculum is designed to let the sophomores approach to clinical practice through clinical observations in Mackay Memorial Hospital. The students can relate the knowledge to practice. During the junior year, students will have the clinical practice under the instructions of the teachers and the clinical supervisors. During the senior year, the students have the off-campus internship at different hospitals, hearing aid companies, special education schools, and other related units.
Lots of opportunities to approach diverse professions
The students can know the abilities they should be equipped by taking frequent visits to hearing aid companies, early intervention centers, and organizations related to audiology and speech-language therapy. Moreover, professionals are frequently invited to share their experiences and current situations.
Continue improvement on the educational curriculum
To benefit the students the most, the design of the educational curriculum is examined by the Curriculum Committee in school. We also accept advice from the international scholars, which is highly recognized.
Focus on practice and clinical skills
During the freshman year, the arrangement includes visits to the institutions related to aural rehabilitation, assistive tools, and speech-language therapy. During the sophomore year, the courses are designed to train students to learn using PTA and the assessment of language and voice. Also, a screening is held to let students practice what they learned in lessons. During the junior year, the courses are designed to let students get involved in the community services to perfect the clinical skills, including screening the preschoolers in the cooperating kindergarten.
