he Nursing Clinical Competence Center in the department coordinates with the center in the Mackay Memorial Hospital so that equipment is provided to students in an optimal teaching environment. Simulating facilities in a medical center, the Nursing Clinical Competence Center is designed to have nursing stations, preparation rooms, and wards, whereby having studied in the simulated ward students can recognize basic equipment in a ward. Instruments available for students to practice various nursing skills include wheelchairs, dressing carts, roll boards, nursing trolleys, blood oxygen monitors, blood glucose machines, patient models, sphygmomanometers, stethoscopes, and fiber optic scope sets. The Clinical Competence Center is designed with a digital concept, equipped with a large projection screen and multimedia video playback equipment. Faculty and students can use the digitized equipment in classes. Students have access to real-time learning, with a variety of models exhibited in display cabinets (including a male urinal catheterization model, an intravenous injection and venipuncture model, a wearable intradermal injection model, a bust model of central venous catheter care, and an elderly model device for care experience).
